yes. if your husband or wife finances a car, you can be added to the title. it can also work like that with parent and child.

in wisconsin, both parties do not have to be on the loan to be on the title. my husband was on my title and

According to state data, nearly 100,000 high-cost car loans were made in 2011, with an interest rate of 300 percent. This meant the average $1,000 loan was paid for three times over by the borrower, with more than $2,000 interest charged on a $1,000 loan. More than $150 million in interest charges alone were charged to families in Illinois.

Don Carlson, executive director of Illinois People’s Action, said it’s not fair to people.

“What happens is they trick borrowers into coming in for a loan that often lasts for a year or more,” Carlson said.  “So people pay 300 percent interest, so if you borrow $1,000 you are going to end up paying over $2,000 in interest alone.”
