Hi. I'm having lots of problems with my Paypal acct and I really need to speak to a real person but the telephone numbers are either 0845 OR International numbers which charge sooo much money. Does anyone know of a free tel number I can use to call

I haven't been able to find a freefone number, but here is a number that is charged at normal landline rates: 020 8605 3000. I found this number on http://www.saynoto0870.com, which I use all the time to avoid making calls that are charged at prohibitive

Microsoft phone scam reported in Guysborough County

GUYSBOROUGH – A telephone scam where victims are cold-called by people claiming to be from the Microsoft Support Centre has hit Guysborough County. This spring reports of the scam swept through the media in the United Kingdom and it appears to be our turn on this side of the pond to be the fraudsters target.

 

On Wednesday, August 31 a Guysborough County resident, who does not wish to be identified, received a call from a man claiming to be from Microsoft. “They called me by name and said there is something wrong with my computer. They gave me some letters to input and then my screen went black but the icon stayed on the side. Then a black screen came up with white writing. There were 50,000 things wrong with my computer.”
