NY grad takes a stand against loan company Sallie Mae

Sallie Mae claims to be the number one financial services company specializing in education, but one New York student has stood up to the company in order to alleviate what she believes to be an unfair fee.
When Stef Gray was 12 years old, both of her parents died. When she was 18 she, like most 18-year-olds, needed money for college. She took out private loans with Sallie Mae for the three years she attended school. When she graduated, she had three loans that she had to pay back. Student Loans Without Cosigner: Debt Accrues Faster | xtremeskill.com

So, I am reading that for many debtors with student loans, the debt accrues far faster than they can do anything about it. This is for employed people with normal jobs, not unemployed-not looking types. Anyway, I am not sure if this one loan I am reading about is one of the student loans without cosigner or a private Sallie Mae loan, but the debtor paid $35,000 and could only get her balance down to $99,000 (from $102,000). Basically, she called Sallie Mae several times and finally got one person to talk to her and admit that something was wrong. The person promised to e-mail her an amortization schedule. This person talked to the debtor nine months ago and no e-mail was ever sent. If the debtor skips payments, however, her phone rings every hour with another representative hell-bent on collecting. The debtor is convinced that Sallie Mae is corrupt and unhelpful.
